Carbon Fibers Europe's Environmental Commitment
Toray Carbon Fibers Europe produces lightweight, strong carbon fibers that significantly reduce the weight of aircraft and automobiles. This mass reduction improves fuel consumption and thus reduces CO2 emissions throughout the product’s life cycle.
To build a renewable energy economy, Toray Carbon Fibers Europe also provides advanced materials for new energy storage technologies: hydrogen tanks and fuel cells.
Toray Carbon Fibers Europe is actively working to reduce its manufacturing plants’ CO2 footprint through process improvements that save energy and reduce the use of fossil fuels.
Toray Carbon Fibers Europe's Local Actions
In partnership with the local authorities, Toray Carbon Fibers Europe established the ‘Rising Sun’ nursery (named in honour of Toray’s Japanese origins), over a decade ago. The nursery offers more than 40 places for children from the local community and for employees’ children.
In 2019, Toray Carbon Fibers Europe signed a partnership with ESAT, a French support and work assistance establishment located in Orthez and managed by Adapei (the local Association for Parents and Friends of People with Disabilities), for the cleaning of employees’ the personal protective equipment. This partnership has enabled the establishment to diversify by developing a new laundry facility. For Toray, this provider suited its safety and reliability needs perfectly.
Every day, Toray Carbon Fibers Europe employees get involved in local sports, cultural or social clubs. Toray Carbon Fibers Europe supports, where possible, these associations that contribute to building and enriching our local community.
