In addition to its carbon rod production, Toray Carbon Fibers Europe offers a range of carbon fiber laminates manufactured on its pultrusion units. Our laminates are used to reinforce civil engineering or construction works and to design innovative architectural projects. Lightweight, fatigue resistant and easy to install, they are ideal for use in complex environments.
Our laminates are produced from the Torayca® High Strength and Intermediate Modulus carbon fiber range.
Made from Torayca® high-strength T700 carbon fibers, the S-type laminates offer a minimum tensile modulus of 160 GPa. Our M-type laminate are made from Torayca® intermediate modulus T800 carbon fibers. They have a minimum tensile modulus of 200 GPa.
Our laminates are available in sizes ranging from 1.2 to 20 mm in thickness and 10 to 150 mm in width.
Whatever the intended application, the advantages of using our Torayca® flat carbon fiber laminates are multiple:
Toray Carbon Fibers Europe has developed a wide range of resins that are perfectly compatible with the pultrusion process: epoxy, polyester, vinylester, polyurethane. These resins are developed to meet specific requirements such as appearance, colour, impact resistance, fire resistance, temperature resistance, and biocompatibility.
Type de resins | Main Characteristics |
Standard Epoxy | TG 110 °C, good cost/performance ratio |
High-Temperature Epoxy | TG 250 °C, high thermal-oxidation resistance |
Vinylester | Corrosion and alkaline environment resistance |
Polyurethane | Impact resistance |
FST Retardant Epoxy | Fire, smoke and toxicity resistance |
Phenolic | Fire resistance |
Toray Carbon Fibers Europe’s laminates are packaged according to their thickness:
Torayca® carbon fiber laminates can be coiled or bent (under no strain) without being damaged (up to 110 times their diameter).
Other options are available upon request. Please contact our Sales team for more information on:
